AHETA Promotes Tourism +30 Conference
In celebration of its 30th anniversary, AHETA (Algarve Hotel and Tourism Association) is set to host the Tourism +30 Conference on May 29, under the theme “Adding Value to the Algarve” in collaboration with KIPT Colab.
HĂ©lder Martins, AHETA's president, expressed his hope that this conference will help in defining strategies for sustainable growth, establishing the Algarve as an internationally prestigious destination capable of meeting the demands of a constantly evolving market.
The event will take place at the Algarve Marriott Salgados Golf Resort & Conference Center in Albufeira, and participation is free with registration via their form.

Plenary Sessions and Discussions
Following the opening, there will be a plenary session on “The Past, Present, and Future of Tourism from a Macro Perspective”, featuring Mário Centeno, Governor of the Bank of Portugal. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion reflecting on “30 Years of National Tourism Policies and Strategies” with contributions from former Secretaries of State for Tourism.
Another roundtable will cover “30 Years of Tourism Development in the Algarve”, moderated by Carlos Abade, President of Tourism of Portugal, with participation from current and former Algarve tourism presidents.
Motivational and Thematic Sessions
The conference will also include a motivational session titled “Pedal Forward: The Energy to Move Tourism Ahead” led by university professor Jorge Sequeira, and discussions on “+30 Years of Hospitality: Trends and Challenges” and “More Value for Businesses: Support for the Sector.”
Additional topics will address “+30 Years of Collaborative Governance: Perspectives and Coordination” and “Innovation and Investment: The Path to Adding Value.”
