Amália Hoje Returns to the Stage

The tribute band Amália Hoje, formed by Sónia Tavares, Nuno Gonçalves, Fernando Ribeiro, and Paulo Praça, is set to perform at the Coliseus in Porto and Lisbon on March 1 and 7 respectively. This much-anticipated return comes after their tour across Portugal last year, commemorating 25 years since the passing of Amália Rodrigues and 15 years since the band's formation.

This time, they will present new music and arrangements, including their latest single, Fado-Amália, alongside refreshing renditions of classic songs. The band will be accompanied by the Quarteto de Cordas Solistas da Casa da Música, a choir, and three guest musicians.

Formed in 2009, their debut album, which shares the same name as the band, became a triple platinum success in Portugal, largely due to hits like “Gaivota.” Their performances in the Coliseums back in the same year were recorded and released in the album Ao Vivo No Coliseu (2010), marking another significant milestone in their career.

Tickets for the shows are now available, priced between €25 and €45 in Porto and €30 and €45 in Lisbon.
