Blue Banana Expands to Portugal

Founded in 2016 in Spain, the outdoor clothing brand Blue Banana, recognized for its minimalist designs and the signature “X” emblem, has officially opened its first physical store in Lisbon. This marks a significant milestone as it is the first store on European soil outside of Spain, with plans for further expansion in 2025.

The new 55 square meter store is situated on the second floor of the Vasco da Gama shopping centre. Blue Banana currently operates 20 stores in Mexico and has recently entered multi-brand outlets in countries such as Greece, Uruguay, and Puerto Rico. The brand also launched two corners in El Corte Inglés in Lisbon and Vila Nova de Gaia this year.

In conjunction with its launch in Portugal, Blue Banana has launched a Portuguese version of its official website. The brand received support from Retail Mind, a retail consultancy based in Vila Nova de Gaia, which has helped expand over 125 brands and facilitated the opening of more than 2,800 stores.

CEO VĂtor Rocha expressed optimism about the brand's potential in the Portuguese market, stating that they are already exploring additional locations across the country for future expansion.
