The Judicial Police (PJ) announced on Monday the arrest of a 27-year-old man suspected of the qualified homicide of an 85-year-old homeless man last week in Campo Grande, Lisbon.

Details of the Incident
According to PJ, both individuals were homeless, with the suspect being described as a violent foreign national. He was located and arrested early Saturday morning in a different area of Lisbon from where the crime occurred.
The incident took place in the early hours of February 25, allegedly due to a dispute over space, with the attacker using a blunt instrument to inflict injuries.
The elderly man suffered severe injuries to his head and was transported to a hospital where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Investigative Actions
Following the crime report, necessary investigative measures were conducted to identify and locate the suspect. He will now face a judicial interrogation to determine the measures of coercion applicable to him.

The crime occurred shortly after 2:00 AM on Rua Ator António Silva, near the Campo Grande Metro Station, and is under investigation by the PJ.

Victim's Condition
The victim was discovered unresponsive, lying on the ground near the metro station, and was found to be bleeding from the head with multiple wounds. A large, bloodied stone was found near him.
A witness who called emergency services noted that another man was near the victim just before the attack. The victim was rushed to Santa Maria Hospital, where he was pronounced dead around 4:40 AM.
