On Friday, the 22nd, a special ceremony took place at the Vale da Pinta Golf restaurant in Lagoa to honor five former directors of Algarve School Groups who concluded their duties in 2024. The honorees included:
- António José Condessa Martins (Silves School Group)
- Cristina Maria Figueiredo Rodrigues (Vila Real de Santo António)
- Henrique António da Silva (Albufeira Poente)
- Idalécio Lourenço dos Santos Nicolau (Dr. Francisco Fernandes Lopes, Olhão)
- Paula Cristina Galrito Bento (Alcoutim)
The event celebrated the competence, responsibility, dedication, and legacy these directors left in the field of education. The Algarve Regional Education delegation highlighted the affection and appreciation shown to these leaders during the festive dinner with colleagues and friends.
Special Guests and Student Involvement
The ceremony was attended by Carla Alexandra Fernandes, the Algarve Regional Education delegate, and Ana Martins, the Education councilor of Lagoa. The Municipality of Lagoa provided essential support for this special event, involving local schools and their students.
Students from the Padre António Martins de Oliveira School Group participated by showcasing their skills in courses related to Restaurant/Bar and Culinary arts. Meanwhile, the Rio Arade School Group was represented by two 9th-grade students who presented the event and displayed original poems about the beaches of Lagoa, enhancing the evening's decor.
The night also featured performances by students, including:
- Ballet and Contemporary Dance by two students from the High Performance Support Unit
- A musical presentation by a group of 6th-grade students
