Delta Air Lines Introduces Free Wi-Fi on Select Flights

Delta Air Lines is set to enhance the travel experience by offering fast, free Wi-Fi powered by T-Mobile on select long-haul international routes. This initiative aims to have the service available on most transatlantic flights by the end of the summer, including routes that serve Portugal, where the service is expected to roll out in September.

In a recent statement, Delta noted:

“Starting this summer, customers on select long-haul international flights equipped with Viasat will be able to enjoy fast, free Wi-Fi – bringing the airline closer to its goal of offering free Wi-Fi across its entire global fleet.”

Currently, Delta Air Lines provides Wi-Fi on nearly 700 aircraft, which accounts for over 90% of its mainline domestic fleet. Just last month, the airline added this service to its routes to France, with plans for expansion to Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, Spain, and Italy later this month.

In September, the free Wi-Fi service will extend to flights to Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Greece, Portugal, Sweden, and Switzerland. Furthermore, South America, including Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, will join in October, along with Hawaii.

By December, Delta plans to introduce the service on flights to Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal, with further expansion to Asia, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa expected by mid-2025.
