Algarve Tourism at BTL 2023

The Algarve Tourism is gearing up for its presence at the BTL – Better Tourism Lisbon Travel Market, highlighting a celebration of the region's diverse tourism offerings. The program will feature gastronomic experiences, product presentations, and cultural initiatives.

Located in Pavilion 1, the Algarve stand will span 700 square meters, showcasing all 16 municipalities of the region along with 18 tourism sector companies, covering areas like hospitality, tour operators, maritime activities, and regional products.

In a statement, Algarve Tourism emphasizes that this diverse representation reflects the broad tourism offerings of the region and its ability to cater to different visitor profiles with authentic and unique experiences.

The design of the stand draws inspiration from the nature and culture of the region, incorporating elements like hanging baskets, symbolizing the traditional basketry and palm weaving, which are part of Algarve's artisanal heritage. This concept reinforces regional identity and values sustainability and local materials.

Gastronomy and wine tourism will play a central role in the agenda, featuring culinary demonstrations, wine tastings, and presentations of regional products. Notably, the restaurant “O Algarvio” will be present in the new gastronomy area of the fair, located between Pavilions 2 and 3.

The stand's program will also include presentations of innovative projects and iconic events from the region, such as the Festival MED, the Algarve Walking Season, and the Geoparque Algarvensis. A highlight of Algarve's participation will be the presentation of the region's key initiatives for 2025, scheduled for March 13 at 14:00.

According to André Gomes, president of Algarve Tourism, “BTL is a unique opportunity to showcase the dynamic nature of the Algarve's tourism sector, which continually reinvents itself to offer visitors authentic and sustainable experiences. The Algarve goes beyond just sun and sea; it's a vibrant destination filled with tradition, culture, gastronomy, and excellent wines. We invite everyone to visit our stand and discover all that the region has to offer.”
