Organized by ARCDAA
The Cultural, Recreational, and Sports Association of Friends of Alta Mora (ARCDAA) is the founder and host of this event, which has already begun preparations for its fourth edition, benefiting from co-financing under the project "Cultura aos Montes".
A Celebration of Tradition
This festival is a strategic initiative aimed at promoting the traditions and identity of the region while combating the desertification of the Algarve hills. The fourth edition will prominently feature the Almond Blossom Festival of Algarve during the low tourist season.
Festival Highlights
Expect three days of festivities from January 31 to February 2, 2025, with a program available in six languages (PT, ES, FR, EN, DE, NL). Entrance is free for children under 10, €2 for ages 11-14, and €3 for adults.
Enjoy the Nature Walks
Hiking is the main activity, with four marked trails ranging from 6 to 20 km to accommodate all levels of adventurers. Further details, including registration and costs, can be found here.
Cultural Performances
In 2025, street performances will feature the Bando dos 4 and Al Fanfare, along with traditional Portuguese folklore by Sofia Pimentão and the show "Aí Xico Xica". Musical acts include Magmell and Diabo a 7, and Filipe Santos on the Portuguese guitar.
Engaging Activities for All Ages
Children can enjoy face painting, traditional games, and live statues. The festival will also showcase the giant almond tart, measuring 43 meters, along with a street market featuring artisan stalls and workshops.
Support and Collaborations
The 2025 edition is financially supported by the project Cultura aos Montes, backed by European Funds under the Algarve 2030 Regional Program. This initiative is organized by ARCDAA in partnership with the Municipality of Castro Marim and the Odeleite Parish Council.
