As we bid farewell to the beloved month of August, Lisbon's cultural rentrée is more vibrant than ever, featuring events for every taste—from medieval festivals to musical celebrations like Piano City.

This festival marks the first time Piano City is held in Lisbon, promising to enliven the afternoons and evenings in three stunning public gardens:

  • Jardim da Biblioteca Palácio Galveias, a manor house dating back to the 17th century
  • Jardim dos Coruchéus
  • Jardim do Museu da Cidade – Palácio Pimenta, which includes the Bordallo Pinheiro Garden.

After successful editions in various Italian cities, as well as Madrid and Athens, Piano City, founded by German musician Andreas Kern, is now making its mark in Lisbon. According to organizers, the festival features a diverse program with more than 30 outdoor concerts where the piano takes center stage.

This event is a family-friendly initiative and is not just for classical music lovers. In fact, the musical repertoire spans various genres, including jazz, fado-jazz, jazz-flamenco, electronic music, and ambient music, among others.

Part of the celebrated Festas na Rua, the inaugural edition of Piano City Lisboa showcases great national talents, such as Júlio Resende, alongside international artists like Uri Caine and Dain Tepfer from the USA, Rosa Torres Pardo, Alex Conde, and others from Spain, as well as Andrea Bacchetti, Alessio Mas, Alessandra Ammara, and Alessandra Toni from Italy.
