National Institute of Industrial Property Approves 'Savor the Algarve' Brand
In October, the National Institute of Industrial Property granted the registration of the brand 'Savor the Algarve', owned by the Algarve Coordination and Regional Development Commission. This initiative is part of the project 'Revitalgarve – Revitalization of Rural Areas in the Algarve: Resilience and Innovation in Creating Territorial Food Systems'.
The main goals of this brand are to:
- Unify high-quality food products that are characteristic of the Mediterranean Diet of the Algarve, based on the Local Producers Network of the Algarve (RPLA).
- Facilitate the identification of these products for consumers in the marketplace.
- Promote the consumption of products linked to the brand, enhancing their quality and authenticity to boost adherence to the Mediterranean Diet.
- Increase the value of the agri-food sector in the region, contributing to local economic dynamism, job creation, and a rise in adherence to the Mediterranean Diet.
As part of the Revitalgarve initiative, there are plans to create a website and launch a promotional campaign for the 'Savor the Algarve' brand, aimed at increasing visibility for local producers and their products. Implementation is anticipated in 2025.
