Francisca Salgado and Francisco Reis have significantly strengthened their leads in the sub-14 and sub-18 categories after the second round of the GJG Algarve Juniors International tournament, organized by Global Junior Golf at the Quinta do Vale Golf in Castro Marim.
Sub-18 Female Category
Francisca Salgado continues to dominate the female sub-18 category. For the second consecutive day, she recorded the best score of 76 strokes, which is 4 over par on the course designed by the late Seve Ballesteros in the Algarve. Salgado improved her previous day's score by one stroke, totaling 153 (+9) and holding a comfortable 9-stroke lead over the second-placed Iiris Ahti from Finland, who scored 82+80.
Sub-14 Male Category
Francisco Reis also maintains a comfortable lead of 9 strokes, matching the par 72 of the Algarve course today with a total score of 147 strokes (3 over par). He is pursued by three other Portuguese players: João Alvim in second with 156 (83+73), Martim Johansen in third with 157 (81+76), and João Setúbal in fourth with 159 (82+77).
Sub-14 Female Category
In the female sub-14 category, Eva Silva remains in second place behind Aroa Herran from Spain, who continues to lead since the first day. Silva registered a total of 164 (83+81), 20 over par, trailing by 5 strokes. Herran's scores were 79 and 80, totaling 159 (+15).
