Serious Road Accident in Lapa
A dramatic road accident occurred in the Lapa area this Friday, resulting in a car being immobilized on a flight of stairs adjacent to Ribeiro Sanches street. The driver, an 84-year-old man, suffered minor injuries and was transported to Hospital de São José in Lisbon.
According to Rui Coelho, deputy chief of Lisbon's sapadores firefighters, the driver sustained injuries to his lower limbs. The emergency response included three fire trucks and 13 firefighters, alongside ambulances from INEM and local police.
Coelho described the situation as spectacular but easily manageable, considering the vehicle's position on the stairs.
