Police Prevent Potential Shooting Incident
The PSP (Public Security Police) successfully intervened on Wednesday morning, thwarting what they believe was a revenge shooting near a nightclub on Rua da Cintura do Porto de Lisboa.
A total of 16 individuals were intercepted, with nine suspects taken into police custody. During the operation, officers confiscated three firearms and an unfired shotgun shell.
Details of the Operation
The police action took place at approximately 6:45 AM after reports emerged of individuals armed with guns near the Krystal nightclub. Officers on patrol quickly identified the 16 suspicious men. Following a thorough search, six were found in possession of illegal items and were transported to the PSP station on Rua da Palma. Subsequently, an additional three suspects were also taken into custody.
Weapons Seized
The confiscated items include a shotgun, a handgun, an airsoft gun, and an unfired shotgun shell. Authorities are currently investigating whether any shots were fired at the scene or in the vicinity. The Public Prosecutor's Office is expected to decide on the judicial interrogation of the nine detained individuals.
