Closures and Restrictions
Following the chaos over the weekend, two emergency services across the country are currently closed. According to the SNS online page, the pediatric emergency service in Barreiro and the gynecology and obstetrics emergency in Abrantes are not operational. Patients are advised to call 808242424 before heading to any emergency services.
Most of the affected services are in the Lisbon and Tejo Valley region, with additional closures reported from north to south of the country, primarily in pediatrics and gynecology.
In addition to these closures, 18 other emergency services will only cater to internal emergencies and cases referred by CODU/INEM and SNS 24.
At Amadora Sintra Hospital, the pediatric emergency service continues to face restrictions, accepting only patients referred by the health line 24 or by emergencies until 08:00. These restrictions will resume at 20:00 this Monday.
