Exciting New Cultural Hub for Brazil Set to Open in Lisbon!

A New Cultural Center in Lisbon

The Lisbon City Council (CML) is set to provide a building to the Brazilian government, facilitating a vibrant presence that will encompass various sectors from culture to business. According to the newspaper PĂşblico, the new Casa do Brasil will be located in a four-story building near Avenida da Liberdade.

What to Expect Inside

  • The first floor will feature a cultural space powered by the Banco do Brasil Foundation, which oversees four significant centers dedicated to visual arts, music, cinema, and other forms of artistic expression in Brazil's major cities: SĂŁo Paulo, BrasĂ­lia, Rio de Janeiro, and Belo Horizonte.
  • The second floor will host a branch of the Banco do Brasil.
  • The third floor will accommodate the entities responsible for Casa do Brasil, including the Brazilian Agency for Export and Investment Promotion (ApexBrasil), Embratur, and the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation.
  • Finally, the fourth floor will house an incubator and accelerator for Brazilian companies.

Community Support

According to Brazilian President Lula da Silva, the Casa do Brasil will also serve as a support and social hub for the Brazilian community in Portugal, which is the largest foreign community in the country, consisting of over 400,000 residents, with about 200,000 awaiting documentation from the Agency for Integration, Migrations and Asylum (AIMA), along with another 200,000 luso-Brazilians.

The property transfer agreement will be signed on Wednesday, December 4, by CML President Carlos Moedas and ApexBrasil President Jorge Viana.
