A New Era for Luxury in Faro
The first luxury boutique hotel in Faro, named The Ashana, is set to open by 2027 in the historic center of this Algarve capital. This five-star establishment will be housed in a 16th-century building, aiming to elevate the city's hospitality offerings.
Unique Features
With 29 luxurious rooms, The Ashana will feature an indoor garden, a rooftop pool, a gym, and versatile meeting rooms. According to Tatiana Vieira, the project manager, they are targeting a luxury market and plan to host small events such as art exhibitions and live music.
Embracing History
Tatiana emphasizes that Faro has great potential but has often been overlooked. The hotel will celebrate the city's heritage by combining Moorish architecture with modern Portuguese design. Nelson Gaitinha, the architect, states that the goal is to create something unique, moving away from the mass tourism model.
Personalized Service
In addition to its structural uniqueness, The Ashana aims to provide a personalized customer experience. Guests will receive assistance from a dedicated staff member throughout their stay, moving beyond traditional roles like receptionists and waitstaff.
The Growing Luxury Scene
This hotel will be the second five-star hotel in Faro, following the opening of the 3HB Faro in June 2021, which features 103 rooms, multiple restaurants, and wellness facilities. The Ashana is expected to further enhance the luxury landscape of Faro, which is experiencing a resurgence in tourist interest.
