The government is determined to find a definitive solution for the 36 families currently residing there. This announcement confirms a report previously covered by the DIÁRIO in its Friday print edition.

Planned Relocation Steps

The solution involves relocating the families to another area within the parish. Initially, a temporary relocation will occur, followed by the establishment of a permanent solution.

As previously reported, the families will be permanently relocated to Sítio do Castelejo. Construction of 30 townhouses is set to commence in the coming weeks, with an estimated completion timeline of one and a half years.

Government Conference Insights

During a press conference held at the Regional Civil Protection Service, Albuquerque also reported that approximately 5,000 hectares have been burned, with some impact on the Laurissilva forest; however, he reassured that its integrity remains intact.
