Fire Erupts in Alcântara, Lisbon

On Wednesday, a fire broke out in a three-story building in Alcântara, Lisbon, prompting the evacuation of 30 residents.

Evacuations and Displacements

At least one couple has been left displaced due to the incident. The local parish has provided facilities to accommodate those affected.

Cause and Response

The flames originated in the roof area, near a skylight, and spread to the structure, resulting in the collapse of the third-floor slab. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire around 7:11 PM.

Emergency Response Team

Approximately 50 firefighters and 20 vehicles from the Ajuda Fire Department, Lisbon Sapadores Regiment, PSP, INEM, and Civil Protection were on-site.

Injuries Reported

One firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation.
