51st Volta ao Algarve Cycling Race Returns to Lagoa
The 51st Volta ao Algarve is set to make its annual appearance in Lagoa, featuring the second stage of the race, Lagoa – Alto da Fóia, on February 20. The event kicks off at 12:00 PM from the Largo do Auditório Carlos do Carmo, with athlete presentations starting at 10:30 AM.
Exciting New Route
This year's edition, taking place from February 19 to 23, 2025, boasts a revamped route designed to attract more sports enthusiasts and boost television viewership. As the premier cycling event in the UCI ProSeries for 2023 and 2024, it promises to cater to all types of cyclists with stages that accommodate various skill levels.
Thrilling Challenges Ahead
The race will culminate at Malhão, Loulé, with an exhilarating time trial for the first time. Additionally, a brand-new stage will finish in Faro, while the climb to Fóia, Monchique, is expected to be more challenging than in previous years.

Traffic Advisory
Due to the race, there will be traffic and parking restrictions on Rua do Centro de Saúde and surrounding areas from 6:00 PM on February 19 to 2:00 PM on February 20. The route will include Rua Francisco L. M. Veloso, Largo Miguel Bombarda, Largo Combatentes da Grande Guerra, Rua 16 de Janeiro, Rua Sacadura Cabral, and Rua Joaquim Eugénio Júdice.
