On what seemed like an ordinary Saturday at the Palácio do Gelo shopping center in Viseu, a shocking incident unfolded. A shooting occurred, leading to panic as shoppers sought safety. As the dust settled, it was revealed that a feud between two rival families resulted in the tragic death of a 44-year-old woman and injuries to two others.

Witnesses described how the situation escalated quickly. Aleny Ferreira, a jewelry store worker, recalled hearing gunshots and initially mistaking them for a prank. As people ran into the store for safety, she felt the urgency to hide.
"I heard shots and thought it was a joke. I only realized the seriousness when I saw people running into the mall," Aleny shared.
David Santos, who was working at a nearby tobacco shop, also thought the sounds were firecrackers until he noticed the chaos around him.

The PSP (Public Security Police) responded promptly to the scene at 6:18 PM, shortly after the suspect fled in a grey Audi A4. The police are actively pursuing the suspect, who is believed to be armed and dangerous. The weapon, a 6.35 caliber gun, is suspected to be illegal, and the suspect, known to authorities, remains at large.
