Preliminary Report on Helicopter Crash

A preliminary report concerning the recent helicopter crash in the Douro indicates that the aircraft struck the river at a speed of 185 kilometers per hour. However, the report does not clarify the reasons behind the crash.

In an interview with RTP, the lawyer representing the helicopter pilot stated that a bird strike was not responsible for the accident. Instead, Albano Cunha, the lawyer, revealed that the pilot experienced a blockage of the controls, which prevented him from recovering the aircraft's situation.

Concerns Over Pilot Accountability

Cunha expressed fears that the pilot may be held responsible for the incident in the future. He noted that there are "nuances" in the preliminary report that raise suspicions and criticized the authorities for not visiting the pilot in the hospital yet. He described the report as "vague" and emphasized that he will not allow the pilot to become a "scapegoat" for anyone.
