The cyclone Isaac is intensifying and bringing severe weather to the Azores. According to confirmation from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) to Rádio Renascença, the cyclone is expected to approach the Azores as a Category 2 hurricane on the Saffir-Simpson scale.

Heavy rain and waves up to five meters are forecasted, with gusts that could reach 80 kilometers per hour across the archipelago. The islands of Faial, Graciosa, Pico, São Jorge, and Terceira are anticipated to be the most affected this Sunday. However, the islands of Corvo and Flores are also under a yellow warning.
The yellow warning, which is the least serious on a scale of three, is issued whenever there is a risk situation for certain activities dependent on weather conditions.
