Emília Spínola's Reaction to Election Results
Emília Spínola from JPP (Juntos Pelo Povo) has reacted to the initial election results presented on election night, stating that the projections align closely with the sentiments expressed by the party during the campaign weeks.
“We hope to be recognized as the second most voted force in these 2025 regional elections and even surpass the current projections, potentially allowing us to form a government different from what the region has experienced over the last decades,” she asserted.
Spínola emphasized that the night is still young, asserting, “We still want to govern,” and noted that it is too early to discuss any coalition agreements.
Patrícia Spínola, a sitting member of the regional parliament, echoed this sentiment, assuring that the party will do everything possible to prevent the Madeiran population from facing constant elections.
According to projections from the Catholic University of Portugal's Center for Studies and Opinion Polls, released at 19:00 local time, JPP is expected to secure between 18% and 22% of the votes, translating to 9 to 12 seats in the parliament.
