The report, released by Holidu, a vacation rental booking portal, utilized data from Euromonitor International to compare 2023 tourist arrivals with local populations. Dubrovnik in Croatia leads the list with 27 tourists per resident, followed by Rhodes in Greece with 26 and Venice in Italy with 21.

The cities of Heraklion (Greece), Florence (Italy), Reykjavik (Iceland), and Amsterdam (Netherlands) also feature prominently in this ranking. Following Lisbon and Porto, Dublin in Ireland rounds out the top ten.

Holidu explains that the classification was based on tourist numbers from 2023, drawing from various reputable sources like The Savvy Backpacker and Air Mundo. Notably, cities in Russia and Ukraine were excluded from this analysis.

For those curious, the overwhelming tourist influx has transformed these cities, with Lisbon and Porto experiencing significant strain from the tourism boom.
