Criticism of Lisbon's Municipal Management
Lisbon's mayor, Carlos Moedas, is facing mounting criticism as residents express their frustration with various city issues. Recently, concerns have been raised not only regarding the amount of uncollected trash littering the streets but also about the city's holiday lighting.
Ricardo Moreira, a representative from the Bloco de Esquerda, remarked, "Lisbon is the only city in the world where the municipal government can decorate an entire avenue with Christmas lights during the holiday season, yet it has been over a year since the traffic lights have functioned properly." He specifically pointed out the out-of-service traffic signals in areas like Penha de França and Arroios.
He further quipped, "If Avenida Morais Soares were a unicorn, it would have traffic lights by now," highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
