Luz Saúde, a prominent health group, has announced the acquisition of new health units in Algarve, Lisbon, Porto, and Covilhã. This strategic move, communicated to employees, does not disclose the financial details of the deal.
In an internal memo, Luz Saúde revealed that they have entered into an agreement with C2 MedCapital, gaining control over several healthcare facilities, including a hospital and five clinics in the Algarve, a hospital currently under construction in Covilhã, and the Centro do Bebé in both Lisbon and Porto.
This acquisition marks Luz Saúde's first venture into the Algarve region, enhancing their portfolio and potentially increasing synergistic opportunities within the Hospital da Luz network, which boasts a business volume exceeding 25 million euros. The group aims to expand healthcare services across southern Portugal.
However, the deal is subject to approval from the Competition Authority, with expectations for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2025. Luz Saúde operates under Fidelidade, which is primarily owned by the Fosun International group from China.
