Voters Head to the Polls in Madeira

Madeirans are called to the polls this Sunday, March 23, to decide the future of the region in the 15th election for the Legislative Assembly of Madeira. The universal, direct, and secret voting will determine the composition of the regional Parliament for the next legislature, electing 47 deputies.

How to Vote

To find out where to vote, send an SMS to 3838 with the following details: RE, space, citizen card number, space, date of birth in the format year/month/day. You will receive a response with your voting location. Information is also available online at recenseamento.mai.gov.pt or through the 'MAI Mobile' app from the Ministry of Internal Administration.

Post-Election Process

After today's elections, the party or coalition with an absolute or relative majority will indicate to the Representative of the Republic for the Autonomous Region of Madeira the name of the future President of the Regional Government, typically the leader of the most voted party or coalition.
