Changes to Tram 28's Route
From July to December, Tram 28 will only operate between Martim Moniz and Praça LuĂs de CamĂ”es, due to essential repaving works on the Calçada da Estrela managed by the Lisbon City Council.
Alternative Bus Routes
To compensate for the disruption, Carris has introduced two alternative bus routes and extended the 25E line. The new bus routes include:
- Medium-sized buses running from Cais do Sodré to Prazeres every 30 minutes on weekdays from 6:30 AM to 10 PM and on Sundays from 7:30 AM to 9 PM.
- The route will navigate through Avenida 24 de Julho and Largo de Santos, avoiding the closed Calçada da Estrela.
Extended Tram 25
For tourists, Tram 25 is still operational and has been extended from its usual endpoint at Cais do Sodré to Praça da Figueira, providing a similar experience to Tram 28.
New Shuttle Service
Additionally, a new mini-bus shuttle service will run in a circular route between PrĂncipe Real and CamĂ”es, operating every 30 minutes from 7 AM to 8:30 PM. This service connects with the Tram 28 service at CamĂ”es.
Navigational Support
Passengers should be aware that there are now three different Tram 28 services: the original tram, the medium-sized bus, and the mini-bus shuttle. To navigate these changes, tools like Google Maps or CityMapper can help clarify the different routes available.
These adjustments will remain in effect until December, when the construction work is expected to be completed. For more detailed information, visit Carris' official site.
