March for Life in Lisbon
On a vibrant Saturday afternoon, hundreds of people gathered in Lisbon for the March for Life, an event organized by the Federation for Life, aimed at highlighting the importance of supporting life while opposing abortion and euthanasia.
The march commenced at Largo de Camões, where enthusiastic participants, many of whom were young, donned t-shirts and prepared various signs. Among the slogans displayed were “Always for Life”, “Choose Life”, and “Yes to Life, No to Abortion”.
As the march progressed down Rua da Misericórdia, participants paused for a minute of silence to honor what they referred to as the victims of the Arcos clinic, known for performing abortions.
Leading the procession were three motorcyclists, while marchers vocally expressed their convictions with chants like “I am for Life” and “Every Life Has Dignity”.
The March for Life is an annual event occurring in 12 Portuguese cities, including Lisbon, Porto, and Coimbra, emphasizing a unified stance against abortion and euthanasia across the nation.
