A Cultural Heritage

Santos was spotted in his careto attire, which he shared through several images on Instagram, showcasing the vibrant spirit of the carnival. In his post, he expressed, "One of the most genuine carnivals in Portugal, where tradition, identity, and animation go hand in hand. Happy Carnival to everyone!"

The caretos, with their colorful masks and costumes, playfully chase women through the streets in a symbolic gesture linked to ancient agrarian and fertility rituals. Each year, this festive event attracts numerous visitors to the village.
