PSD Party's Internal Elections on Hold Until After Regional Vote

No Appeal Filed by Manuel António Correia

The President of the Jurisdiction Council of PSD stated today that, even if the request made by member Manuel António Correia were valid, the party's statutes do not allow for internal elections to be called before March 23, the date of the regional elections.

Rui Abreu explained to the press that he has not received any appeal regarding the decision to reject Manuel António Correia's request.

Valid Signatures in Question

The social democrat further clarified that out of the 570 signatures submitted by Manuel António requesting an extraordinary congress and a Regional Council, only 240 were deemed valid. In addition to the regularization of memberships, some signatures did not belong to valid party members.
