The National Authority for Civil Protection (ANPC) reported at 16:30 that a significant firefighting operation is underway, involving 273 personnel, supported by 96 vehicles and seven aerial units.

The blaze, which started on Sunday, has devastated an area exceeding 600 hectares, leading to substantial agricultural losses in chestnut groves, vineyards, forests, and beehives, as detailed by the Mayor Luís Fernandes.
Emergency Measures Implemented
During the night, the fire encircled the village of Nuzedo de Baixo, prompting the activation of the Aldeia Segura Pessoas Seguras emergency plan as a precautionary measure. João Afonso, the Sub-regional Emergency and Civil Protection Commander, stated that approximately 70 residents were confined to a designated safe point, although evacuation was ultimately deemed unnecessary at this stage.
