New Triage System Launched
Under the protective awning at the entrance of the São Francisco Xavier Hospital's emergency department, two squares painted in a greenish-blue stand out against the white and dark gray wall. One features a gray metal phone with a black headset, while the other bears the message: "Now triage is at SNS24. Always call before going to the emergency room."
The project "Call Before, Save Lives" kicked off this Thursday at the emergency departments of Lisbon's three main hospitals. With this initiative, there are now 26 Local Health Units across the country with designated emergency triage systems.
