Severe Weather Disrupts Madeira's Airport Operations

Strong winds have led to the cancellation of dozens of flights at Madeira Airport, affecting nearly 5,000 passengers.

The ANA (Aeroportos de Portugal) has issued warnings that adverse weather conditions may impact airport operations. Travelers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

Ongoing Weather Alerts

The Funchal Captaincy has extended warnings of strong winds and high seas in Madeira until 6:00 PM this Sunday. Additionally, the Lobo Marinho, the ferry service connecting Madeira to Porto Santo, has also canceled its scheduled trips for today due to rough seas.

The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere has placed the entire Madeira archipelago under a yellow warning for strong winds until Monday.
