Iniciativa Liberal's Reaction to Public Spending Growth

The president of Iniciativa Liberal, Rui Rocha, has publicly criticized the recently announced 15% increase in public spending limits, describing it as "shocking." This reaction comes in light of the Quadros Plurianuais de Despesa Pública (QPDP) presented by the government to the Assembleia da República.

During his statements to the press, Rocha emphasized that the state remains insatiable regarding expenditures while failing to provide adequate public services. He pointed out that despite an increase in public sector employees and spending, there continues to be a shortage of essential professionals, including teachers and emergency doctors, leading to a deterioration of public services.

Rocha recalled the previous government led by António Costa, noting a clear degradation of public services. He asserted that under the current government of AD, the situation has not improved, stating, "The state is not better; in many areas, it is the same or even worse."

In response to these concerns, Iniciativa Liberal plans to request an urgent debate focusing on the state of the state, which will take place in the Assembleia da República.
