Disturbing Incident Caught on Camera

A viral video showing a man violently assaulting a woman in a supermarket parking lot in Póvoa de Santa Iria, near Lisbon, has sparked outrage and prompted a police investigation. The footage, which has circulated widely since Sunday, December 8, depicts the man attempting to force the woman into a car while physically attacking her for over a minute.

Bystanders Shocked

The video, filmed by onlookers, captures the fear and disbelief of those witnessing the incident as they express their shock that none of the many people nearby intervened to help.

Authorities Take Action

The PSP (Polícia de Segurança Pública) has launched an investigation following the release of the video. An official source stated, "The PSP, upon learning of the footage, initiated an investigation and immediately informed the Public Prosecutor's Office."

In the one-minute and nineteen-second clip, a heavily built man can be seen trying to drag the woman into what appears to be a Fiat 500. Despite her attempts to escape, she is continuously chased and attacked. At one point, she slaps the man in defense but is quickly met with further aggression. In another instance, the man grabs her by the hair as she tries to flee.

The exact outcome of this alarming situation remains unclear as law enforcement continues their investigation.
