St. Patrick’s Day Parade Rescheduled
The St. Patrick’s Day parade, featuring 500 bagpipes, originally set for March 22, has been postponed to March 29 due to worsening weather conditions. The event will still take place at the same time and location on Avenida da Liberdade.
Event Details
Starting at 15:30, the parade will showcase musicians from eight Portuguese bands and three Spanish bands, culminating in a vibrant show open to the public. The route will end at Rossio, where a themed market and various live performances will take place. A double-decker Guinness bus will also be circulating throughout the city as the event's sponsor.
Post-Parade Celebrations
After the festivities at Rossio, celebrations will extend to Baixa-Chiado and Cais do Sodré, with bars offering makeup services and Polaroid photo opportunities. The St. Patrick’s Day after-party will be hosted at popular venues such as Bar Liverpool, O'Gilíns Irish Pub, and Cheers Irish Pub Lisbon.
This marks the second edition of the parade, which debuted last year with over 200 musicians from eight Spanish and two Portuguese bands.
