  • Ribeiro has played only six matches this season and last started on November 3rd.

  • Previously had a standout season with 35 appearances, three goals, and an assist.

  • Joins Farense as they battle to avoid relegation, hoping to solidify his place in defense.

Tomás Ribeiro's Transfer to Farense

Tomás Ribeiro, a 25-year-old central defender, is on the verge of signing a contract with Farense for a season and a half, aiming to play more regularly. Currently linked to Vitória de Guimarães until June 2027, Ribeiro seeks to revitalize his career in Faro, where he hopes to secure a more prominent role.

This season, Ribeiro has only played in six matches, and has not been a consistent choice for either Rui Borges or Daniel Sousa, the team's coaches. His last start was on November 3rd, during a win against Moreirense. Since then, he has been on the bench for five games.

After saying goodbye to his teammates, he is now heading to the Algarve, awaiting the final details of the transfer.

Ribeiro had a more active role last season with 35 appearances, scoring three goals and providing one assist. However, the reduced playing time this year led him to seek new opportunities. Previously, he developed his skills at Belenenses and had a stint with Grasshoppers in Switzerland before joining Guimarães in 2023 for €250,000.

At Farense, currently sitting in 16th place in the league, Ribeiro will have the chance to contribute to the team's fight for survival, with hopes of establishing himself as a regular in their defense. His contract is expected to span a season and a half.
