The collision involved a passenger catamaran connecting Barreiro to Lisbon and a fishing boat, resulting in two missing fishermen and two injured individuals. The ferry company has already announced an internal investigation.
Search Efforts
Despite the challenging circumstances, the Captain of the Port of Lisbon, Paulo Rodrigues Vicente, indicated that the chances of finding the fishermen alive are slim. However, he assured that the authorities will persist in their search efforts until the missing men are located.
The injured fishermen were rescued and are currently receiving medical attention at Hospital Garcia de Orta in Almada.
