The Ukrainian embassy in Lisbon was evacuated today around midday following a bomb threat. According to a source from the Lisbon PSP, an explosive ordnance disposal team was dispatched to the scene.
The embassy received an email stating that the building was rigged with explosives and that they would be triggered remotely today. The police confirmed that contact was made after 12:30 PM and that by 2:00 PM, members of the Explosive Deactivation and Underground Security Center (CIEXSS) were still on-site.
While the building has been evacuated, the police could not confirm how many individuals were present at the time of the alert. Efforts to reach embassy officials for further comment have so far been unsuccessful.
