Algarve and Baixo Alentejo are under a yellow warning on Thursday and Friday due to anticipated heavy showers, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms and hail, as reported by the Portuguese Institute of Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA). The warning will be in effect from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday and from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Friday.

In addition to the districts of Faro and Beja, the IPMA has also issued a yellow warning for Lisbon and Setúbal districts between 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Thursday. Furthermore, warnings have been issued for Castelo Branco and Guarda due to expected snowfall above 1,400/1,600 meters between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM today.

Today's weather forecast for the mainland indicates very cloudy skies, with showers likely in the northern and central interior, and snowfall expected above 1,400/1,600 meters. There will be strong winds in higher areas and a drop in temperature. Minimum temperatures will range from 3 degrees Celsius (in Guarda and Bragança) to 14 degrees (in Faro), while maximum temperatures will vary from 12 degrees (in Guarda) to 22 degrees (in Faro and Setúbal).

The IPMA has also placed the Central Azores group (including Faial, Pico, Terceira, Graciosa, and S. Jorge) under a yellow warning due to heavy rain and thunderstorms expected until 3:00 PM today.

The yellow warning, the least severe on a three-tier scale, is issued whenever there is a risk for certain activities dependent on weather conditions. In the Western Azores group (including Flores and Corvo), very cloudy skies with sunny spells are expected, increasing cloudiness towards the end of the day, with light to moderate southwest winds shifting gradually to the northeast. For the Central group, generally very cloudy skies with periods of rain and occasional heavy showers are predicted, along with conditions favorable for thunderstorms and light to moderate southerly winds shifting to the east. In the Eastern group (including S. Miguel and Santa Maria), the forecast suggests very cloudy skies with sunny breaks and light to moderate southeast winds shifting to the northeast.

In Santa Cruz das Flores and Angra do Heroísmo, temperatures will vary between 16 and 21 degrees, while in Horta and Ponta Delgada, temperatures will range from 17 to 21 degrees.
