Francisco Reis Shines at Algarve Juniors International

Young golfer Francisco Reis, representing the Vilamoura Golf Club, made a remarkable impression by finishing 2nd overall in the men's rankings at the GJG Algarve Juniors International golf tournament. The event took place at the Quinta do Vale course in Castro Marim until this Monday.

In a competition that included players from the under-18 and under-23 categories, Reis concluded the final round with an impressive 69 strokes (-3), totaling 216 strokes, which matched the course par. He finished just behind the Dutch under-18 Kayden Chang, who took first place with a score of 210 (-6).

Under-14 Category Highlights

In the under-14 category, Reis dominated the field, winning with a staggering 19-stroke advantage over his teammate, Martim Johansen, who scored 235 (+19) and placed 16th overall. Other notable performances included JoĂŁo Alvim from Miramar, who secured 3rd place in under-14 (19th overall) with a score of 241 (+25), and JoĂŁo SetĂşbal from ACP Golfe, who finished 5th in the age group (24th overall) with 251 (+35).

Women's Sector Performance

In the women's competition, Francisca Salgado from Vale de Janelas excelled by finishing 1st overall in the under-18 category. Additionally, Eva Silva from Oporto claimed 2nd place in under-14 (7th overall).
