2025 is set to be a landmark year for the Algarve International Circuit, featuring a packed calendar of international competitions across both two and four wheels. As we approach the end of the year, the Portimão circuit is ready to kick off the next season with a green light.
A total of 23 confirmed events will take place at the AIA and KIA, catering to motorsport enthusiasts. Highlights include the Superbike World Championship in March, the European Le Mans Series and Algarve Classic Festival in October, and the penultimate round of the MotoGP World Championship in November, as well as the CIK FIA World Championship at the Kartódromo in early May.
In addition to the events scheduled at the Algarve International Circuit, the International Karting Circuit will also host several national and international championship events, showcasing one of the fastest tracks in Europe with five competitions planned for 2025.
Jaime Costa, administrator of the Algarve International Circuit, stated, “This will be the year with the most international competitions held at our circuit, all during the off-peak season. It is crucial for us to secure dates outside the busiest periods in the Algarve, ensuring not just effective media coverage for the region but also boosting the local economy due to the influx of visitors, whether spectators or team members. Most championship teams stay in the region for at least a week, stimulating the local hospitality industry.”
With tickets already on sale for the Superbike and MotoGP World events, the Algarve International Circuit continues to be a premier venue for major motorsport competitions, attracting many visitors even outside the typical summer season, thus reinforcing its role as a key driver of the regional economy.
