The GNR (National Republican Guard) has reported the arrest of 86 individuals in the Algarve region, including five for drug trafficking, during the week of February 3 to 9. This information was shared in their regular weekly report from the Faro Territorial Command.
In various operations aimed at preventing and combating violent crime, as well as road safety enforcement, the GNR made significant arrests, which included 36 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 28 for driving without a valid license.
Among the seized items were 160 doses of hashish, 20 doses of cocaine, three shotguns, one air rifle, 102 cartridges, three knives, and one precision scale.
In terms of traffic violations, 811 infractions were recorded, which included 104 for speeding, 100 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 64 for lighting and signaling system issues, 30 for lack of civil liability insurance, 22 for improper mobile phone use while driving, and 20 for improper seatbelt use or child restraint systems.
Additionally, there were 101 reported accidents, resulting in 12 minor injuries.
