Algarve Swimming Association's Milestone

The Algarve Swimming Association (ANAlgarve) has signed its first program contract with the Olhão City Council, securing €10,000. This funding is a significant step towards the development of swimming in the region and the modernization of competition equipment.

ANAlgarve currently uses electronic boards that have been in service for over 20 years to record athletes' times. Their goal is to replace these outdated systems with new technology, enhancing the accuracy and quality of swimming events.

In collaboration with AMAL (Algarve Intermunicipal Community) and with the support of all municipalities in the region, they aim to secure a total financing of €70,000 to acquire new electronic boards. Mariana Santos, president of ANAlgarve, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "We hope for support from the remaining municipalities and believe that, with everyone's collaboration, we can make swimming in Algarve a national and international reference. This unity reflects our commitment to sports development and training top athletes in our region."

New Electronic Boards

The association is excited about the potential installation of new electronic boards, which will greatly improve the competitive level of Algarve swimming.
