On a Saturday morning at around 8:30 AM, three men stole a motorcycle parked on a street in Campolide, Lisbon, using a previously stolen van. However, their bold move did not go unnoticed as they were pursued by the PSP (Public Security Police) through the capital's streets.
The Chase
Residents alerted the police when they witnessed the theft. Upon arrival, the first patrol saw the suspects attempting to escape down Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian, Avenida dos Combatentes, and Eixo Norte-Sul. The thieves abandoned the van at the intersection of Rua 1.º de Maio and Estrada Militar in Pontinha, fleeing on foot towards the Serra da Luz neighborhood.
Key Evidence
While they managed to escape, one of the suspects dropped his mobile phone, which was retrieved by police and is currently under analysis. Both the stolen motorcycle and van have been confiscated and returned to their rightful owners.
