Calls for Clarity on Electoral Law

Cafôfo emphasized that the Head of State must clarify why the publication of the new Electoral Law in the Diário da República and its subsequent entry into force occurred after the decree to dissolve the regional Parliament, thus preventing its application in the upcoming elections. He noted, "Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa must also reveal what steps will follow."

In a statement sent to the press, Cafôfo reiterated that the PS-Madeira has long advocated for changes to the Electoral Law for the Madeira Autonomous Legislative Assembly. These changes aim to ensure gender parity and facilitate early voting for those in transit.

Furthermore, he assured that the PS-Madeira will uphold gender parity in its candidate lists, as it has consistently done in previous elections.
