This artwork, created in 1824, had been recently rediscovered, with its whereabouts unknown until now. The auction was conducted by ArtEnchères, and the painting was acquired by a couple of Portuguese collectors who plan to take it to New York.
Despite efforts to secure the piece, the Portuguese State participated in the bidding but ultimately was unable to finalize the purchase as intended.
