Record Sales in First Month

According to reports from ECO, since its launch on October 21, 2024, 30,000 passes have been sold within the first month. This achievement reflects strong public support for the initiative, aimed at enhancing mobility and promoting territorial cohesion. The pass, priced at €20 per month, allows travel on all CP trains, excluding the Alfa Pendular and urban services already covered by other passes.

Commitment to Future Rail Investments

The minister praised the dedication of CP workers and confirmed the government's commitment to invest in railway infrastructure. The first tenders for the acquisition of high-speed rolling stock are set to be launched in January.

Focus on High-Speed Market

Miguel Pinto Luz emphasized that CP does not aim to monopolize the high-speed market, assuring that the company will not face penalties due to the introduction of the Green Rail Pass. The demand indicates that much less than the expected compensation will be necessary, ensuring sustainability for the railway company.
