The weather forecast indicates a day with very cloudy skies and showers becoming more likely from the late morning, along with a possibility of thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon, as reported by the IPMA.

Wind Conditions

After a period of strong winds over the past 24 hours, conditions are expected to shift to weak to moderate winds (10 to 30 km/h) coming from the south, with occasional strong gusts (up to 40 km/h) in the highlands during the afternoon.

Temperature Changes

The day will also see a slight drop in temperatures following a general increase noted yesterday. In Funchal, the forecast predicts very cloudy skies with showers becoming more probable by late morning, but with weak winds (less than 15 km/h) and a minor decrease in temperature.

Marine Conditions

On the sea front, after experiencing strong waves, especially in the open sea on Saturday, conditions are expected to improve. On the North coast, waves from the northeast will be 1.5 to 2 meters, transitioning to waves from the north by late afternoon. Meanwhile, on the South coast, waves from the south will be 1 to 1.5 meters. The sea water temperature is expected to hover around 18/19ºC.
